Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology is a fully fledged public university located in Kakamega County in Western Kenya. MMUST envisions being the Premier University in Science, Technology and Innovation. The university’s mission is to provide excellent university education, training and research through integrating science, technology and innovation into quality programmes to suit the needs of a dynamic world with a general objective of  contributing both qualitatively towards sustainable and equitable scientific, socio-economic and technological development in Kenya and beyond. MMUST has grown since its establishment as a Constituent College of Moi University in 2002 when it had only three faculties with a few students to when it became a full university in 2007 and now when it has eight faculties with over 30 departments. The university’s School of Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences and Technology has three departments under and about 1000 students studying various agricultural courses. The school has eight undergraduate, five masters and two PhD programmes.
