The current Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) Annual Report represents the 5th of since such reports and is based largely on activities and capacity building engagements pertaining to the 5th - year period from 2008 to 2009. The report is a departure from all previous reports in content and form and also serves to chart new operational frameworks and directions for RUFORUM during its transition into an International Non-Governmental Organization.
The past year was a momentous one for RUFORUM in many ways. It saw the endorsement of a number proposals and grants for significant reform of the organization. However, most importantly, the year marked the beginning of a strengthening in RUFORUM’s overall operational systems and strategies for greater effectiveness. Some of the key developments were in development of a communication strategy, gender policy, monitoring and evaluation strategy and systems and other guidelines for governance and engagement with universities and other stakeholders, which are still on-going.
