Undergraduate Degree Programmes
For admission to a 4-year degree program of study at MUAST, a student must have the following qualifications in the ZIMSEC/CAMBRIDGE examinations or equivalent:
All applicants MUST have passed 5 (five) ‘O’ Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics and 2 ‘A’ Level passes in relevant subjects except for the BSc Honours in Development Sciences and Policy.
Applicants with a Diploma in the relevant field from a recognised institution and should have attained an overall grade of Merit or better.
Applicants with a Pass grade should have at least 2 years work experience in the relevant field.
Further to the 5 ‘0’ Level passes requirement, applicants should be at least 25 years for males and 23 years for females on the first day of the academic year in which admission is sought. The candidates should also demonstrate potential suitability for University studies by virtue of their attainment of relevant work experience. (This does not apply for the BSc Honours in Crop Production Technology; BSc Honours in Animal Science and Technology and BSc Honours in Horticulture).
