RUFORUM requires a pool of experts on online course development and instruction to support the development of a number of cross-cutting online courses for use by member universities. It also aims to facilitate review of selected courses to be offered across several universities. Further, it aims to strengthen online engagements and dissemination of research output and utilization. This initiative is expected to encourage integration of online education and implementation of regional e-learning agenda across the network. The experts will be selected based on individual competencies and skills from among especially but not limited to RUFORUM member universities. They will work with the RUFORUM Secretariat to deliver on the various assignments, including supporting skills development and roll out of online courses in selected disciplines.

Innovations Development in the Agricultural Sector in Uganda

Background The Government of the Republic of Uganda through the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development in collaboration with the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) has received a grant from the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) for technical assistance to finance the Feasibility Study for Youth Employment, Entrepreneurship and Agro-innovation Development in Uganda. The feasibility study to be executed in collaboration with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MoSTI) in Uganda, is designed as a pilot to contribute to activating the regional initiative to enhance Uganda's capabilities in science, technology, creativity and entrepreneurship in the agricultural field, by preparing for the youth employment and entrepreneurship development in the agricultural sector in Uganda proposal. The output and lessons from the Uganda Pilot Feasibility study will be used to design similar initiatives in other African countries, with RUFORUM Secretariat serving as the Regional Facilitating Unit (RFU).

The RUFORUM Vision 2030 mandates the Secretariat to facilitate universities to innovatively use ICT to improve teaching and learning through the Knowledge Hub (K-hub) flagship programme. Through the K-Hub, RUFORUM is expected to facilitate universities to provide relevant and practical training, not only through innovative and creative teaching, but also by using the latest electronic means to deliver and enhance the student learning experience.
RUFORUM invites eligible firms/consultants to submit their proposal for consultancy to provide the E-learning Services. Interested firms should provide proposals demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to provide a functional e-learning platform. Download full call
