The Zambezi University ( UniZambeze ) is a legal person governed by public law, with legal personality and enjoys scientific, pedagogical and administrative autonomy. UniZambeze was created by Decree No. 77/2007, of December 18, and began its teaching activities on March 16, 2009 offering to the market 16 courses in 6 colleges. The name Zambeze University derives from the Zambezi River that literally crosses the Central Zone of the country, giving it strategic importance for the development of Mozambique and the Southern Africa Region, due to its enormous potential in mineral resources, water and biodiversity
