Selma Ndapewa Nghituwamhata (Namibian) is the Program Assistant, Doctoral Training at RUFORUM Secretariat. Selma joined the RUFORUM Secretariat in September 2020 as an Intern at the Executive Secretary's Office to assist in the publication of the RUFORUM Working Document Series and the African Journal for Rural Development (AfJRD) papers. She later served as a Technical Specialist in Research and Innovation, supporting the design and implementation of research and innovation activities, especially the graduate research grants in the network. Currently, she facilitates the implementation of the Doctoral Students, staff mobility, Training and capacity-building programmes. Selma is a PhD Candidate in Plant Breeding and Biotechnology at Makerere University, where she acquired a Masters degree in Plant Breeding and Seed Systems. She also holds a BSc in Agriculture – Crop Science (Honours) (University of Namibia, 2016). Selma started her career as a Research Assistant at the University of Namibia (2016), managing the Foxtail Millet Project activities. She currently serve in the Board of Directors for the Aspiring Farmers of Namibia (NamAFa) and previously served in the African Plant Breeders Association-Graduate Students Working Group as a Secretary and Chairperson.
