She holds a BSc in Biological Sciences, KNUST Ghana, Masters in Environmental Science SUNY ESF USA and PhD in Wastewater Treatment, Delft Netherlands.She is noted for her research in pathogen removal mechanisms in wastewater treatment plants, faecal sludge management and environmental impact assessment. Leadership positions held include, Departmental Heads of Environment and Technology, Civil Engineering, Dean, Faculty of Civil and Geomatic Engineering all at KNUST, Facilitator for EU SWITCH project on City Water Management for Accra, Director, Wellcome Trust SNOWS Project and the Foundation Vice-Chancellor University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani and second Female Vice-Chancellor in Ghana. Currently, she is the Executive Board Member of OWSD for Africa Region, Africa Sanitation 'Think Tank', World Collaborating Council for Water Supply and Sanitation and Advisory Board Member of RECIRCULATE a Water and Sanitation research towards sustainable development in Africa. She has over 100 scientific articles in reputable journals. She has received numerous awards and recognitions, notably, UNESCO Mondialogo for innovative research in Engineering- 2007, Best Elsevier Scientific Paper - 2006 National Best Researcher in Environment, Water and Sanitation 2011, Honorary Fellow Ghana Institution of Engineers - 2014, Fellow of Africa Academy of Sciences - 2014, President award of the Officer of the Order of Volta- 2016, Sumanman Golden Sword for Education 2016, Akim Kotoku Award for Education - 2016 and National Students Ambassador for Education - 2016 Ghana Brass Women in Excellence - 2016 Life Time WASH STEWARD Towards sustainable delivery of WASH Services in Ghana-2018 Hobbies: Music,-Composer of UENR and UHAS University Anthems and has gospel album Member of the Methodist church Ghana Singing Band, Once a Church organist Walking and sightseeing.
