Biography
Prof. Agnes Wakesho Mwang’ombe (PhD) Emeritus Professor of Plant Pathology, University of Nairobi. She is Steering /Advisory Committee Member, of Global Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR), Rome and Board member of Center for Corporate Governance (CCG, Kenya). She served as Principal, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences and Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Nairobi. Has served in several National, Regional and Global boards but to name a few such as Chairperson, Kenya Institute for Public Policy, Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) in Nairobi, Kenya, Board Member of Vision 2030 1st Delivery Board in Nairobi, Kenya, Board Member of Kenya Forestry Research Institute in Muguga, Kenya, Board member of Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CB-CGIAR which became CGIAR System Board) in Montpellier, France, Advisory Board Member and Scientific Advisory Member of CTA, Ede, Netherlands, CGIAR Gender Diversity Program based in ICRAF, Member and 1st Vice-Chair of African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD), Technical Advisory Committee Member: RUFORUM, Kampala,

Uganda, First chairperson, Kenya Professional of Women in Agriculture and Environment Association (KEPAWAE) and Board member of Kenya Commercial Bank(KCB). She has attracted several research grants from diverse global donors/development partners and established Seed Enterprise Management Institute (SEMIs) at the University of Nairobi to build capacity of private seed sector in Sub-Saharan Africa.
