Biography
Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe holds a PhD in Architecture from the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture and is a professor of architecture at Makerere University. He has been the Vice Chancellor of Makerere University, one of the oldest and premier universities in Africa, since August 2017. Prof. Nawangwe has been at the Centre of the transformation of Makerere into a research intensive, collegiate University. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA), Chairman of the Board of the Alliance for African Partnerships (AAP), and Council Member, the Association of Commonwealth Universities. Prof. Nawangwe is passionate about African universities’ role in transforming the African society through research and innovation.
