Biography
Prof. Umezuruike Opara is a Distinguished Professor and DST‐NRF South African Research Chair in Postharvest Technology at Stellenbosch University, Cape Town, South Africa. He served as a Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station at Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, and a Programme Director Engineering Technology in Postharvest Engineering at Massey University, New Zealand. He is an experienced research leader and senior level manager with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry in Africa, Australasia and the Middle East. He is an Expert in Postharvest Technology, Food Engineering, Research and Development and Agricultural Policy. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Engineering from Massey University and a Certificate in Innovation for Economic Development from the Kennedy School at Harvard University.
