Biography
Dr. Aster Minwyelet Addamu leads education and skills at the Human Capital Development for Mastercard Foundation. She has ample experience, expertize, and is passionate about higher education, education technology, teacher development, youth skilling and partnership for impact. She has been engaged in the education sector for more than 20 years, with roles ranging from assistant professor at Bahir Dar University, leading large scale early grade reading education programmes implemented by international NGOs, and managing education and skills partnerships and portfolio at the Mastercard Foundation, including elearning initiatives. She holds a PhD in Education from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the Netherlands, an MSc in Literature from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia, an MSc of science in curriculum and instruction from Universiteit Twente in the Netherlands, and a BSc in Education from Bahir Dar University in Ethiopia.
