Boadu, Kwasi Opoku is my name. Born in Kumasi, Ghana and a Lecturer at the Industrial Chemistry Unit, Department of Chemistry, University of Cape Coast, Ghana since 2006. I enrolled in August 2017 to the World Bank African Centre of Excellence in Oil Field Chemicals programme, Institute of Petroleum Studies, University of Port Harcourt and completed my PhD. Chemical Engineering with major in Oil Field Chemicals in January 2020. I graduated with four research publications out of my PhD research works in international journals. The programme were made-up of course work, intensive research work and industrial internship supervised by well-trained Professors. I wish to express my ultimate gratitude to all the Professors on-board for their guidance, timely discussions, suggestions, corrections, constructive criticism and encouragement throughout the duration of the programme. This enabled me to accomplish my task on time.
I did appreciate their advice and inputs right from day one, which helped to move this work forward as planned. My profound appreciation also goes to the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) and World Bank African Centre of Excellence for Oil Field Chemicals Research (ACE-CEFOR) for granting me the scholarship opportunity, providing the resources (research grants, stipends and study leave in the case of UCC etc.). Without their assistance, this programme would not have been accomplished. To my fellow colleagues, RUFORUM members and the staff of ACE-CEFOR, I say a big thank you for your warm friendship and most in-depth support. It was a great opportunity, a pleasant and valuable experience working with you. Indeed, you all made me feel at home throughout my studies.
